Authy was hacked.

A recent security breach exposes over 33 million phone numbers from Authy users. If you're an Authy user, update the version of your apps and be on alert... or find a new MFA tool.

Authy was the first MFA app that I used when I started my career. It worked fairly well, but ultimately I switched to Google Authenticator. I'm glad I did – Both because the UX is far superior (in my opinion) and because it was announced earlier this month that Authy suffered a significant data breach that impacts over 33 million users. Though this breach may be limited in scope and severity, it's always unsettling to me when security-focused companies slip up like this.

I figured I'd post this, not to throw stones, but to provide one more data point to spread awareness. You can learn more about this breach from Twilio's official announcement along with other 3rd-party outlets.
